Hotels Near Hong Kong Disneyland
If you’re planning a trip to Disney Hong Kong – first of all, lucky you! It’s a brilliant place, and one that really is for all the family to enjoy.
Of course, you’re going to want to stay in a nice hotel – and depending on your circumstances, that might mean palatial luxury or something a little more down-to-earth.
Now, there are a couple of hotels on the Disney resort itself – The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. But actually, if you come out of the resort complex itself, there’s a whole host of great accommodations to choose from.
If you’re lucky, you might just bag yourself a bargain in the process.
Let’s take a look at what are some of the top hotels you can find that offer great accommodations and easy access to the park.
Auberge Discovery Bay
A 4 star hotel located on Lantau Island. Discovery Bay is an upmarket area that makes the frenzied masses of Central Hong Kong feel like they’re a million miles away. The Auberge Discover Bay Hotel is located a mere 2km from Disney.
With 261 rooms and 64 suites, the hotel is not overly large, meaning that you get to be treated like a special guest, rather than a conveyor belt visitor.
The facilities are superb – a gym, wellness spa, pool, activity centre offering hiking and bike tours, 2 restaurants and various packages on offer, including a specific ‘visit Disney’ offer to include your entry to the theme park.
You can book direct on the hotel’s website, or check out one of the hotel comparison sites (Agoda, Trivago etc.), to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible.
Silvermine Beach Resort
A nice, low-rise hotel in a secluded location (well, as secluded as you can get – this is Hong Kong, after all).
Silvermine Beach Resort is located on Lantau Island within extensive lush gardens, a nice outdoor pool, tennis courts, fitness centre, bike hire, complementary water bikes and boats, a sauna and a steam room. Dining options are well catered with three restaurants.
Disney is an easy, 30-minute taxi ride away. But in addition, you’ve got easy access to Central, the Ngong Ping Village and cable car, Tai O Fishing Village and the Citygate Outlets Mall.
This 3 star hotel offers a good level of luxury for an affordable price.
Just be aware that there is no elevator – although being that it’s only over three floors this should not be a big issue for those with normal mobility. If stairs are a problem for you, either choose another hotel or request a ground floor room.
The Upper House
If you’re looking to spoil yourself, then The Upper House is a truly luxurious option – albeit a little further out from Disney than most of the others on this list.
It’s still an easy taxi ride (20-40 minutes) to get there – and the hotel concierge will organise transport if you ask them to.
Winner of the Travellers Choice 2016 Luxury Hotels and Service award, this delightful accommodation ranks at number 1 on Trip Advisor’s ‘best hotels near Disney’ listings.
The architect-designed hotel has all the facilities you’d expect from a 5 star hotel – fitness, bikes, 3 dining options (plus in-room dining), and is ideally situated on Pacific Place to enable exploration of all that Hong Kong has to offer.
W Hong Kong
The W chain has been slowly developing a reputation for itself over the past few years, and its Hong Kong hotel certainly is a place to stay with that special ‘wow’ factor.
Located in West Kowloon, the hotel is perfect for experiencing the craziness of the city, right on your doorstep. But when you step back inside the sanctuary that is your hotel, the inner calm within makes it all disappear…
If you want to combine your Disney experience with some shopping, the stupendous Elements shopping mall is an easy walk away.
To relax, take advantage of the gym, spa and divinely located swimming pool where you can take a dip and look out over the city below.
Gold Coast Hotel
If you’re looking for a little peace after the days spent at Disney, then the Gold Coast Hotel in Castle Peak Bay might be just what you’re looking for.
Officially rated as 4 stars, the hotel offers excellent facilities – 10 acres of landscaped gardens, lovely outdoor pool, 4 options to choose from when it comes to dining, a health and beauty spa, a gym, beautiful beach… The list is endless. There are also great facilities for the kids, including a children’s’ playground and club.
Mia Casa Hotel
Rated at 3 stars, the boutique Mia Casa Hotel is small and intimate, with only 33 rooms in total. Its great location in Kennedy Town means you can enjoy all that Hong Kong has on offer – and it’s still an easy taxi ride to get to Disney.
The rooms are luxury, apartment style, with floor to ceiling windows, kitchenette, large shower bathrooms, TV, DVD etc. Check out is a lovely, unhurried 12 noon, meaning that on the day you leave, you don’t have to be up at the crack of dawn to get ready to vacate.
Choose from a standard double through to a two-bedroom apartment with terrace. And be sure to book early – being such a small hotel (and with great rates), this is a popular choice as more people get to know about it.
Whatever hotel you choose to base yourself at for your Disney experience, one of the best ways to ensure you get the best deal is to use one of the many hotel comparison websites.
We mentioned a couple earlier, but in addition you can look at Kayak, Hotel Comparison and Hotel Price Bot.
If you’re really savvy, look at what deals are offered on such a website, then call the hotel direct and see if they’ll match it or give a better deal. They might not give a lower price, but they might give you a room upgrade instead.
Some hotels are happy to do this because then they don’t have to pay commission to the website – and pass the savings onto you in the form of an upgrade. Good luck, and enjoy Disney – you’re going to have an awesome time.
